Privacy, security and responsible use
Cliply is designed to work without a user account or Instagram or TikTok credentials. This page explains which data is involved and your responsibilities when downloading.
Quick summary
We do not ask for your Instagram or TikTok username, password or cookies. The link you paste is processed to locate public content; your history and preferences stay in your browser.
What is processed
- The public Instagram or TikTok URL is sent to Cliply's server to resolve the media and prepare the download.
- The preview may be cached in the browser session for up to about five minutes.
- Preferences are stored in localStorage and download history in IndexedDB, both on your device.
- We use Vercel Analytics and, when enabled, Google Analytics to measure visits and preview and download outcomes. Google Analytics uses measurement cookies. We do not send pasted links, files or download tokens to these tools.
- Operational logs contain time, route, diagnostic identifier and result; the current code does not include the source URL in those logs.
Your controls
You can clear download history from Settings. Closing the tab clears the session cache; you can also clear site data in your browser. Cliply cannot delete files already saved to your device.

A public post can still be protected by copyright, privacy, publicity rights and platform terms. Download only content you own, are authorized to use or may lawfully use. Do not use Cliply to harass, impersonate, redistribute without permission or bypass access controls.
External services
Instagram or TikTok receive the requests needed to locate public content. The hosting provider may process standard technical information, such as IP address, for security and operation. Cliply is not affiliated with Instagram, Meta, TikTok or ByteDance.
